What a full interior detail covers
Every surface is worked, not wiped. Carpets and cloth upholstery are vacuumed and then extracted with a hot water machine that pulls dirt out of the fibres rather than pushing it deeper. Mats come out and are done separately. Vents, switchgear, cup holders, seat rails and the gaps under the seats all get cleaned properly, because that is where a smell actually lives.
Leather is cleaned with a pH appropriate cleaner and then fed and conditioned, which is what stops bolsters cracking. On a car with light coloured leather that is the difference between an interior that ages and one that does not. Glass is done last so nothing lands on it afterwards.
Odours, pet hair and cabin sanitisation
Smells are not covered with a fragrance. Odour neutralising treats the source, which is usually organic material trapped in carpet or seat foam. Pet hair is a separate job and genuinely time consuming: it braids into fabric and has to be lifted rather than vacuumed. Cabin sanitisation is available for anyone carrying passengers or clients regularly.
A full interior valet runs most of a working day depending on the state of the car. That is the honest number. Anyone quoting an hour for a proper interior is vacuuming and calling it detailing.
